The Stoke Space loan is a $150 million conditional commitment from the Department of War's Office of Strategic Capital (OSC), announced October 26, 2026. The proposed loan, alongside private capital, would support the buildout of Stoke Space's second launchpad at its existing launch complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Stoke Space Technologies, Inc. is a U.S. space launch company developing fully reusable rockets.

What the Stoke Space Loan Would Build

OSC's Jordan Sebold said the existing launch complex infrastructure supports Stoke's Nova Pathfinder medium-lift rocket. The new launchpad infrastructure would support the systems and facilities required for the larger Nova Block 2 rocket, which is currently in development.

The release says the commitment more broadly supports the expansion of U.S. launch capacity, and it calls space launch a designated critical technology category.

Conditions Before Financial Close

This is a conditional loan commitment, not a closed loan. The release says Stoke Space must complete additional steps before financial close, including satisfying various financial, legal, technical, investment, due diligence, and other requirements.
