Cirrus Properties plans an 18,000 square foot flex warehouse on 2.4 acres at Aspinwall Avenue, just west of US 1. The county's planning board recommended the zoning change it needs, and the County Commission heard it October 1.

Health First is building Brevard's first freestanding ER in Rockledge and has filed permits for a $230 million Palm Bay Hospital expansion, two pieces of nearly $800 million in projects the health system has announced across the county.

On August 19 the Rockledge City Council took first reading on 15 ordinances annexing five separate properties totaling roughly 12 acres. Four of the five are headed to industrial or industrial park zoning, including one parcel converting out of a county residential designation.

A builder with six Space Coast communities underway said Brevard has an inventory problem, not an affordability problem, and named what is actually holding units back: impact fees, organized opposition at hearings, and two to three years of entitlement before a shovel moves.
